This article is all about the work inspection report (WIR) in construction.

work inspection report (WIR) in construction is a quality control document that is submitted by the contractor to the consultant. In some countries, it is also called Request For Quality Inspection (RFQI).

Format of WIR is prepared by the project management consultant. The main contractor of the project has to submit WIR to the consultant. There are different types of items installed on the site as mentioned in Bill Of Quantity (BOQ).

BOQ is also known as Bill Of Material (BOM).

If the consultant approves WRI then that particular work is assumed to complete. Payments to contractors are released after approval of the work inspection report.

If the inspection report rejects then the contractor has to made corrective action and again submit WIR to the consultant.

Sometimes the work inspection report (WIR) is approved with some comments. These comments can be rectified in near future within a limited time frame.
